Who Can Apply?

All qualified applicants must:

  • Be living and attending school in Jefferson County
  • Be entering grades K through 6.
  • Qualify as low-income as defined by the Federal School Lunch guidelines.

CHOICE Scholarships are awarded yearly in a random lottery drawing held without regard to race, religion, ethnic background, academic achievement or test scores. Students are not required to have a certain grade point average to be awarded a scholarship. SCS realized that students with lower scores may be the ones who most need the extra attention private schools may offer.
